If you’re always on the lookout for quick, easy, and nutritious snacks that both you and your kids will love, then these High-Protein Salted Caramel Snack Balls are for you! I love the idea of snack balls, but most recipes I have seen have very little protein and a lot of fat in them, making them quite high calorie. My goal was to create a snack ball that actually had a decent amount of protein in them and so I am so excited to share this fun and delicious macro-friendly recipe with you. These snack balls are not only packed with protein but also incredibly easy to make and perfect for on-the-go snacking.

Why You’ll Love these High-Protein Salted Caramel Snack Balls

Easy to Make: One of the best things about these salted caramel snack balls is how simple they are to prepare. With just a few ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up a batch in no time. All you need is a mixing bowl and a few basic ingredients, making it a great recipe to involve the kids in.

Portable: These snack balls are perfect for busy lifestyles. Whether you need a quick snack between meetings, a post-workout protein boost, or a treat for your kids’ lunchboxes, these balls are easy to pack and take with you anywhere.

Kid-Friendly: The sweet and salty flavor combination is sure to be a hit with kids. Plus, they’ll have fun helping you roll the dough into balls. It’s a great way to get them involved in the kitchen and teach them about healthy eating.

Here are the Main Ingredients you will Need:

Let’s Walk through How to Make These Step-By-Step:

In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, and almond flour. Mix until well combined.

Gradually add the Smucker’s sugar-free caramel syrup to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously. Add in 15 ml of almond milk at a time as you stir until a dough-like consistency forms. You may need to adjust the amount of almond milk used.

Fold in the chopped roasted peanuts

Divide the dough into 9 equal portions and roll into balls using your hands, each ball should be about 32g

Sprinkle each ball with a pinch of sea salt and enjoy!

Recipe Notes and Modifications:

  • Each ball is approximately 32g, which makes for a convenient single-serving snack. Depending on your nutritional needs, you can adjust the portion size by making smaller or larger balls.
  • Store the snack balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. They can also be frozen for longer storage. If frozen, let them thaw for a few minutes before eating.
  • If you don’t have almond flour, you can substitute it with oat flour or coconut flour. Note that different flours have different absorbencies, so you might need to adjust the amount of almond milk accordingly. Macros will differ based on flour used.
  • Get your kids involved in rolling the dough into balls. It’s a fun activity that can teach them about healthy eating and cooking.
  • I recommend the brand Pescience Select one for protein powder, for this recipe use the Vanilla Gourmet flavour!
