Peanut Sauce

I absolutely LOVE Peanut Sauce, but most recipes I have seen are very high calorie, which makes it tricky to enjoy this sauce in the quantity I like to eat it in. Who doesn’t love all the sauce?! So, I decided to make a Peanut Sauce that is delicious but also packed with protein while being very low calorie!

Bursting with bold flavors and creamy textures, this versatile sauce is a staple in our house, adding depth and richness to a wide range of dishes. Whether drizzled over noodles, used as a dipping sauce for my Vietnamese Spring rolls, or incorporated into stir-fries, this Peanut Sauce elevates any meal with its irresistible taste!

The powdered peanut butter forms the creamy base while bringing in added protein at low calories, while sesame oil adds a nutty richness and depth. Sugar-free maple syrup lends a subtle sweetness, balanced by the tangy notes of rice vinegar and lime juice. Soy sauce infuses the sauce with savory flavour, while ground black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger add layers of complexity and warmth.

Making my homemade Peanut Sauce is easier than you think. In just a few simple steps, you can whip up a batch of this sauce to elevate your favorite dishes.

Here are the Main Ingredients you will need:

Begin by combining the powdered peanut butter, sesame oil, maple syrup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger in a small bowl. Gradually add the water, stirring continuously until all the ingredients are well blended and the sauce achieves a smooth consistency. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.

The possibilities with this sauce are endless, you can use it as a marinade for chicken or tofu before grilling or as a sauce to brush on while cooking. It also makes an AMAZING Salad Dressing! Toss it with mixed greens, shredded carrots, and sliced cucumbers for an Asian-inspired salad. Truly, this sauce is a must-have addition to your culinary repertoire. Plus, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week, allowing you to enjoy its deliciousness whenever the craving strikes.

Recipe Notes and Modifications

  • I purchase the powdered peanut butter at supplement stores or on Amazon
  • It is naturally gluten-free as long as the soy sauce used is gluten-free
  • The brand of sugar free syrup I prefer is Steeves
